This course provides an overview of the knowledge, skills,
values and ethics of generalist social work practice
individuals, families and groups. Course content focuses on
the stages of problem solving including engagement, data
collection, assessment, intervention, evaluation, and
termination. Emphasis is placed on how problem solving is
applied when working with people from diverse backgrounds.
The roles, values and ethics of social work are discussed in
relation to practice situations involved in working with
micro and mezzo systems.
