| ENVA 430 - The Adirondack Environment |

This interdisciplinary course introduces students to the
geology, flora and fauna, history, literature and environ-
mental politics of New York's Adirondack Mountains. Follow-
ing a historical survey, the course looks at contemporary
environmental policy issues: acid rain, second home
development, invasive species, over-use of popular areas,
among others. The course includes either a weekend
camping trip or several day-trips (one of which may be
service-oriented). Fee required. (Same as ATDV-100)
